Veteran-Owned Business Fractional CISO · vCISO · Houston & nationwide

A seasoned CISO in your corner. Without the full-time salary.

For companies doing $5M to $400M a year that have outgrown “IT handles security” but can’t justify a full-time security executive. You get senior judgment, a plan you own, and one accountable person who answers to you.

Better together

Your IT provider and a CISO do different jobs

This is the most common and most expensive misunderstanding we see. We don’t replace your IT team or compete with them. We set the direction and own the risk, which makes their work count.

Your IT / managed-services provider

Keeps the technology running

  • Help desk and day-to-day support
  • Networks, devices, email, and Wi-Fi
  • Software updates and patching
  • Backups and antivirus tools
  • Onboarding new employees

The hands on the keyboard: keeping the lights on.

Your fractional CISO

Owns the strategy, risk & accountability

  • Defines what “secure enough” means for your business
  • Aligns you with compliance, customers & cyber insurance
  • Vets the outside vendors who touch your data
  • Builds the policies and the incident plan
  • Reports to leadership in plain business terms

The judgment and accountability: deciding what good looks like.

Think of it as the difference between the crew that maintains the building and the person responsible for deciding it’s safe to occupy.
What we handle for you

Five areas, one accountable owner

Who you’ll work with

A security executive who has also run a business

I’ve spent 20+ years in technology and security leadership: CISO and CIO roles at growth companies, enterprise IT strategy at a Fortune 500 energy company, and founding, scaling, and selling my own managed-services company. That mix matters. I understand the controls, and I understand payroll, margins, and what a security dollar has to earn.

You won’t get handed off to a junior analyst. You get me, speaking plain English to your leadership team and working alongside your IT provider.

Questions

Straight answers

What is a fractional CISO, exactly?

A fractional (or virtual) CISO is an experienced Chief Information Security Officer who works with your company part-time, on a schedule and budget that fit your size. You get executive-level security strategy, compliance leadership, and accountability without a full-time executive salary, benefits, and recruiting cost.

We already have an IT company. Why would we need you?

Your IT provider keeps systems running. A CISO decides what “secure enough” means, owns the risk, answers to leadership, customers, and auditors, and holds everyone (including vendors) to that standard. We work alongside your IT team, not against them. Most IT providers welcome it.

Is my company big enough to need this?

If you have $5M or more in revenue, handle customer or patient data, move money electronically, or have customers asking security questions, yes. Attackers deliberately target mid-sized companies because they assume nobody is minding the store.

Do you sell security products?

No. We’re independent by design: we sell judgment, never products, and take no commissions on any tool or vendor we recommend. Our only incentive is what’s right for your business.

Do you work outside Houston?

Yes. We’re based in Houston and serve clients nationwide. Most work is remote, with on-site visits for workshops, tabletop exercises, and board meetings when they add value.
